DEHRADUN, 11 Oct: ‘The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep running’- Living by this inspiring spirit, St Joseph’s Academy, here, hosted its much-awaited Marathon 2025 on Saturday amidst great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
The event commenced at the early hours of dawn (5 am) with a warm welcome to the distinguished Chief Guest Pramod Kumar, PPS Officer of the 2005 batch of Uttarakhand, currently serving as Superintendent of Police (City), Dehradun. A proud alumnus of IIT Roorkee and recipient of the Sarhaniya Seva Police Medal (2025) awarded by the President of India, Kumar’s presence added inspiration and pride to the event. Adding to the spirit of the occasion were Principal SJA Brother Joseph M Joseph, along with members of the Young India Team (Ankit Lamba (Chair), Puneet Wadhwa (Co-Chair), Rahul Singhal, Varun Gulati, and Aniroodh Prakash), distinguished Alumni (Maj Gen Sanjay Sharma, Tirupati Juneja, Akash Jain, and other members), Coordinators, and teachers, who came together to cheer and motivate the young Josephites. The campus was alive with the vibrant energy of runners from Classes VI to XII, representing the four proud Houses; Duffy, Donovan, Bergin, and Dooley.
In his address, the Chief Guest commended the young Josephites for their enthusiasm and urged them to run every race in life with determination, discipline, and integrity. A memento was presented to him by Bro Joseph M Joseph as a token of gratitude for his inspiring presence.
The Marathon, a hallmark of the Academy’s sports calendar, showcased not only athletic excellence but also teamwork and the true Josephite spirit of perseverance.
