Dehradun – The government has decided not to renew the lease of the land on which the prestigious St. Joseph’s Academy (SJA) stands, which may increase difficulties for the school. In the first phase, the government will take possession of the football ground, which is considered Nazul land. A committee led by the District Magistrate of Dehradun, along with the Municipal Commissioner, Vice Chairperson of MDDA, and SSP Dehradun, has been formed to oversee this process. The committee conducted an on-site inspection on Tuesday, initiating the demarcation process.
Report to Be Submitted in Three Days
The investigation committee will submit its report to the government within three days. This action is in line with the government’s order from January 17, 2012, which decided not to extend the lease of St. Joseph’s Academy’s Nazul land in light of the Uttarakhand Secretariat’s expansion and future needs. The land around the Secretariat is being identified for parking and other traffic management measures.
