State Tax Department Suspends GST Registration of 2577 Traders, Recovers ₹4 Crore in Three Days

The State Tax Department has intensified its crackdown on GST defaulters and traders failing to file returns. In the last three days, the department has recovered ₹4 crore from defaulters and suspended the GST registration of 2577 traders.

State Tax Commissioner Dr. Ahmed Iqbal stated that following a revenue review at the government level, the department launched an extensive campaign against traders who failed to pay their GST dues or submit returns. On Monday alone, the department recovered ₹1.52 crore and suspended the registration of 548 traders.

Additionally, legal action was taken against 146 traders for non-compliance. The department continues its efforts to ensure tax compliance across the state.
