“State’s Silver Jubilee Celebration to be held with Grand Cultural Events and Splendour”

Dehradun, 28 Oct: The state of Uttarakhand will complete 25 years of its formation (Silver Jubilee) on 9 November 2025. To mark this historic milestone, a statewide Silver Jubilee Celebration will be held from 1 to 9 November, featuring a series of daily cultural programmes based on different themes.

During a press briefing held today, Secretary, Religious Affairs and Culture, Yugal Kishore Pant, informed media that the celebrations will begin on 1 November 2025, with vibrant performances throughout the day.

Program Schedule Overview

1 November: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Folk dance presentations; 3:30 to 5 p.m. – Cultural performances by students of Bhatkhande Hindustani Music College, Pauri. 6 PM – 9:00 PM: Mrs. Rameshwari Bhatt’s Jagar singing, Yulikhery troupe from Nagaland, and performance by Suresh Badekar.

November 2 – 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Folk dances, Nati performances by Himachal cultural troupes, Ganga Avatarn by Nrityangana Sanstha.

3:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Panel discussion on Cinema in Uttarakhand, Odissi dance by Arya Nanda.

6:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Folk singing by Kamla Devi, Symphony of Himalayas by Vipul Rai, and folk singing by Narendra Singh Negi.

November 3, 2025 – 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Tribal folk dances, performances by Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts, Dharamshala, and Himachali troupes. 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Panel discussion on Uttarakhand’s folk languages and culture. 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Classical singing by Ritwij Pant with tabla by Chitrank Pant, Tibetan Institute’s performance, and Mohan Veena recital by Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt.

November 4, 2025 – 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Tribal folk dances, folk music and dances from Assam and Himachal Pradesh. 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Panel discussion on Theatre in the Himalayas. 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Classical singing by Yogesh Khetwal, Flute-Violin duet by Ronu Majumdar & Mysore Manjunath, Kathak duet by Pt. Harish Gangani & Nayanika Khanduri.

November 5, 2025 – 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Performances on ancient folk instruments, Tibetan Home Foundation Rajpur’s dance, Manipuri Basant Ras Leela. 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Theatrical presentation by Dr. Ehsan Bakhsh (NSD). 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Santoor recital by Pt. Rahul Sharma with tabla by Ojas Adhiya, folk music by Malini Awasthi.

November 6, 2025 – 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Tribal folk dances, performances by Gandharva Mahavidyalaya and Subharti Institute, Dehradun. 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Panel discussion on Nanda Rajjat. 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Santoor recital by Mohan Rawat with tabla by Chitrank Pant, Landed Rhythmsthan Band performance by Nishith Gangani & Himanshu Darmoda, folk performance by Pritam Bharatwan.

November 7, 2025 – 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Folk dances from Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir. 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Panel discussion on Food, Heritage, and Traditions in the Himalayas. 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Dance-drama by Dr. Sonal Mansingh, performance by The Pandavaaz Band.

November 8, 2025 – 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Folk dances of Uttarakhand, performance by Bhatkhande Hindustani Music College, Almora, J&K folk dances. 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Performance by Bhatkhande Music College, Dehradun, talk by Dr. Vijay Bhatt on Music Therapy, cultural presentation by MKP College students. 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Classical singing by Pt Ritesh & Rajnish Mishra, Kavi Sammelan featuring Dr. Hariom Panwar, Vishnu Saxena, Shambhu Shikhar, Tej Narayan Bechain, and Shweta Singh.

November 9, 2025 – 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Presentations on Uttarakhand’s folk culture, performances by Sunahre Ghungroo Dance School and Ardhang Institute, Dehradun. 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Folk dances of Garhwali, Kumaoni, Jaunsari, and Tharu tribes. 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Performance by Bhutanese Band “Misty Terrace”.

Secretary Pant emphasised that the Silver Jubilee celebrations will showcase Uttarakhand’s rich cultural heritage and diverse traditions through an array of folk, classical, and contemporary performances, turning the festival into a grand celebration of the state’s journey over 25 years.
