Crackdown on 20 Stone Crushers Along Ganga Following High Court Order

Acting on the orders of the Nainital High Court, authorities in Haridwar district have launched a crackdown on stone crushers operating along the Ganga river. Of the 48 crushers identified for action, 20 had been sealed by 4 PM on Monday.

A joint team led by the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) took action in the Bhogpur region, disconnecting power and water supply to illegally operating stone crushers and sealing their main gates.

The Haridwar District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police have been directed to submit an action-taken report to the High Court within a week. The enforcement comes as part of efforts to protect the river environment and ensure compliance with court directives.
