The Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU) has announced the schedule for the student union elections (2025–26) at its Birla campus. Chief Election Officer Prof. H.C. Nainwal stated that polling will take place on 27 September, followed by counting and the declaration of results the same day. The oath-taking ceremony of newly elected office bearers will be held on 28 September.
According to the notification, nominations will be accepted on 18 and 19 September, while scrutiny of papers will be held on 20 September between 11 am and 2 pm. Withdrawal of nominations will be allowed on 21 September from 11 am to 1 pm, with the final list of candidates announced at 4:30 pm on the same day. Voting will take place on 27 September from 8 am to 2 pm, followed immediately by counting and results.
The elections will be held for the posts of president, vice president, secretary, joint secretary, treasurer, six executive members, a female representative, and a university student union representative. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 28 September at 11 am in the ACL Auditorium.
Election Controller Prof. S.C. Sati announced that with the notification, the model code of conduct has come into effect on campus. He urged students to maintain discipline and avoid any form of misconduct. Entry to the campus will be strictly restricted to those carrying valid identity cards.
