Dehradun witnessed an energetic start to June as hundreds of residents participated in the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ rally. The event, aimed at promoting fitness and eco-friendly commuting, saw enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups. Uttarakhand’s Sports Minister Rekha Arya also joined the rally, pedaling alongside the citizens and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
The cycle rally began at 6:30 AM from Pavilion Ground, proceeded towards NIVH Gate, and concluded back at the starting point. The diverse group of participants included children as young as seven and senior citizens aged up to seventy, all riding with equal zeal.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Rekha Arya emphasized her vision to transform Uttarakhand from a land of soldiers to a land of athletes. She said that her dream would be fulfilled only when every household in the state produces a sportsperson.
The event was marked by community spirit and a shared message of health, sustainability, and unity through cycling.
