At the Solar Kauthig event in Dehradun, Indian Oil’s innovative ‘Surya Nutan Indoor Solar Cooking System’ emerged as the star attraction. This solar-powered stove eliminates the need for gas, enabling 24-hour cooking after being charged by solar energy.
Naresh Goyal, Director of E-Sharp Company, explained that the stove fully charges in six hours and can be powered using just three units of electricity during cloudy weather. It saves one gas cylinder per month, with its cost recoverable within two to two-and-a-half years. Available in single and double-burner options, it also reduces annual carbon emissions by five to six tons.
Various solar products, including solar water heaters, lamps, and inverters, also drew consumer attention at the event. However, the unique features of the ‘Surya Nutan’ stove have positioned it as an eco-friendly alternative to traditional gas stoves in kitchens.
