Rudrapur – A shocking incident took place in Transit Camp police station area, Rudrapur, where a tenant was secretly recording obscene videos of young women in their washroom using a hidden mobile phone. The act was exposed when a woman noticed the phone in the ventilator and raised an alarm. With the help of the landlord, the accused was caught, and police have registered a case.
The incident occurred in Awas Vikas Colony, where two women from Madhya Pradesh and Almora were living as tenants while working in a SIDCUL company. On the night of March 12, one of the women went to the washroom and saw a mobile phone placed in the ventilator, with its camera facing inside. Panicked, she called the landlord, who rushed to the roof and found Harish Chamola, a tenant, holding the mobile phone.
Upon checking the mobile, the women found recordings of themselves in the washroom, while some videos were deleted. Efforts are being made to recover the erased footage. The police have detained the accused and launched an investigation.
