Dehradun – Police have arrested three individuals accused of setting fire to a restaurant in Vikasnagar on Holi after a dispute over party arrangements. The suspects, along with their associates, allegedly committed the act when they were denied permission to celebrate at the venue.
According to police reports, a group was already celebrating at the restaurant when another group arrived and insisted on joining despite prior bookings. After being denied entry, they assured the staff that they would not cause any trouble. However, a dispute broke out between the two groups, escalating into a physical altercation. Police and the restaurant owner intervened, restoring order and closing the premises. Around 3:12 PM, the accused reportedly returned and set fire to the restaurant, destroying nine cabins, a hall, kitchen, staff room, garden, and bamboo fencing. The fire also consumed valuable items inside and a motorcycle.

The arrested suspects have been identified as:
- Sagar (25), son of Mohan Singh, resident of Fatehpur Grant, Herbertpur, Sahaspur police station.
- Dinesh Singh Bisht (22), son of Narsingh, from Sitlakhet, Ranikhet, currently residing in Jassowala, Sahaspur.
- Ankush Kataria (23), son of Ompal, resident of Jassowala, Sahaspur.
Police are interrogating the accused while efforts continue to apprehend others involved in the crime.
