The Special Task Force (STF) has arrested two policemen for alleged involvement with the Praveen Valmiki gang. The names of the constables, Sher Singh and Hasan Zaidi, surfaced during investigations into their connection with Manish Bawler, nephew of gang leader Praveen Valmiki.
According to officials, the accused facilitated a land deal and registered the agreement under the name of a woman known to them. Both policemen were earlier posted in the Garhwal Range office but had recently been transferred to the Kumaon Range. The arrests highlight ongoing STF efforts to crack down on criminal-police nexuses in Uttarakhand.
