Dehradun: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan held a meeting at the Secretariat with officials from the Disaster Management Department and the World Bank regarding the Uttarakhand Disaster Preparedness and Resilient Project (U-Prepare). The Chief Secretary directed that all proposals under the project be finalized and submitted promptly. He emphasized completing key tasks, including the draft CERC Operational Manual and the Draft Emergency Work Plan, by 31 October 2025.
World Bank officials informed that the Project Management Unit (PMU), Project Implementation Units (PIU), and Field Project Implementation Units (FPIU) have been established, with several positions already filled and recruitment in progress. Construction on 29 bridges has begun, showing significant physical and financial progress.
Additionally, a web-based Management Information System (MIS) has been initiated, and a mobile app is set to be launched following a security audit. Land compensation has been provided to affected families, and the grievance redressal mechanism is fully operational.
Present at the meeting were Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, Vinod Kumar Suman, Additional Secretary Anand Swaroop, and officials from the World Bank.
