Dehradun, 6 Nov: Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, has achieved a significant milestone by making its debut in the prestigious QS World University Asia Rankings 2026, securing an impressive 330th position in Southern Asia and an overall Asian rank in the 1001-1100 band.
The achievement marks a significant moment for the University as it joins the league of globally recognized institutions assessed by QS based on key indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, international research network, sustainability, and global outlook.
With this recognition, Uttaranchal University joins the list of esteemed Indian institutions featured in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026, such as the IIT Delhi , IISc (IISc), Indian IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, University of Delhi, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati ,JNU, BITS Pilani, VIT Vellore, Jamia Millia Islamia, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), MAHE, Manipal University, BHU, SRM, IIT Indore, IIT (BHU) Varanasi, University of Mumbai, University of Hyderabad, and several other prestigious private institutions across the country.
Speaking on the occasion, the President, Jitender Joshi; Vice President Ankita Joshi; the Executive Director, Student Affairs & IT, Dr Abhishek Joshi; Vice Chancellor, Prof Dharam Buddhi; the Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Rajesh Bahuguna; and the Registrar, Dr Anuj Kumar Rana, stated that this remarkable achievement reflects Uttaranchal University’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, research visibility, and global engagement.
They further acknowledged the concerted efforts of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in driving quality benchmarks, promoting internationalisation initiatives, and strengthening data-driven academic and research excellence, which contributed significantly to this global recognition.
