UKSSSC Paper Leak: Congress Extends Full Support, Mahra Vows Fight Until CBI Probe

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Congress President Karan Mahra joined unemployed youth at Gandhi Park, Dehradun, expressing full support for their protest demanding a CBI inquiry under the supervision of a sitting High Court judge into the UKSSSC graduate-level exam paper leak case. Mahra assured that the struggle would continue until their demand is fulfilled.

The protest has intensified after revelations of malpractice in the exam. Sector Magistrate K.N. Tiwari, Assistant Professor Suman, along with a sub-inspector and a constable, have been suspended. The government has attached Assistant Professor Suman, posted at Government Degree College Agrauda, Tehri, to the Higher Education Directorate in Haldwani. Investigations found that Suman had been in contact with prime accused Khalid since 2018, playing the role of a question paper solver and leaking three pages via social media.

Senior Congress leader Suryakant Dhasmana also reached the protest site, affirming that the party’s leadership stands firmly with unemployed youth. He accused the BJP government of betraying the state’s youth, alleging that recruitments in government departments have been stalled for over eight years and that whenever exams are held, paper leaks occur due to a nexus between the system and cheating mafias.

Meanwhile, Haridwar SSP Pramendra Singh Dobal suspended Inspector Rohit Kumar and Constable Brahmdatt Joshi, who were on duty at Adarsh Bal Sadan Inter College, Pathri, Jat Bahadurpur, during the exam. From this center, Khalid allegedly photographed and leaked three pages of the question paper. The investigation has been handed over to CO Roorkee Narendra Pant, with instructions to submit a report within a week. Police have already arrested Khalid and his sister Sabia, while the SIT continues its probe.
