Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has praised the Union Budget 2026-27, calling it a forward-looking budget that will give a new direction to the development of both the country and the states. He said the budget focuses on accelerating economic growth, meeting public aspirations, and strengthening the vision of inclusive development.
The Chief Minister stated that the budget includes important provisions for employment, education, health, tourism, skill development, women empowerment, industry, and infrastructure. According to him, these measures will benefit Uttarakhand along with the rest of the country and create new employment opportunities for local youth.
Highlighting key regional aspects, CM Dhami said the budget proposes the development of environment-friendly mountain trails in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir. He added that special attention has been given to tourism and infrastructure in Uttarakhand, which are essential for sustainable growth in hill states.
He further said that budgetary provisions for farmers, animal husbandry, high-value agriculture, tourism, and MSMEs will strengthen the rural and mountainous economy of Uttarakhand. Investments in environmental protection, energy security, digital technology, and the biopharma sector were described as steps that will ensure long-term benefits for both the state and the nation.
CM Dhami said the budget reflects the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” and the goal of a self-reliant India. He added that the Uttarakhand government will work in close coordination with the central government to effectively implement the schemes and provisions announced in the budget.
