Ex-Servicemen to Get Job Opportunities in Four More States Through Upnal

Ex-servicemen from Uttarakhand will now be able to secure employment in Haryana, Delhi, Manipur, and West Bengal through Upnal (Uttarakhand Purv Sainik Kalyan Nigam Limited). Soldier Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi confirmed that agreements have been signed with these states to expand job opportunities for veterans.

Brigadier JNS Bisht (Retd.), Managing Director of Upnal, informed during a recent meeting that the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) has approved additional contracts with the four states. This move is expected to strengthen livelihood options for ex-servicemen and provide them with more avenues for employment.

Minister Ganesh Joshi also highlighted that opportunities abroad may soon open for veterans. The Ministry of External Affairs is processing approvals that would allow ex-servicemen and non-military individuals in a 50:50 ratio to be placed in overseas jobs.

Brigadier Bisht further informed that Upnal has so far signed similar agreements with 15 states across India, under which it also receives 18 percent GST. This expansion is being seen as a significant step towards ensuring long-term economic security for veterans.
