Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a major policy decision by granting 10 percent horizontal reservation in uniformed posts of Group C services to ex-Agniveers in Uttarakhand. The Personnel and Vigilance Department issued the official notification under the “Horizontal Reservation Rules – 2025” on Monday.
With this, ex-Agniveers will now get preference in recruitment for posts including police constable (civil/PAC), sub-inspector, platoon commander (PAC), fireman, second officer (fire service), jail warden, deputy jailer, forest guard, forester, excise constable, enforcement constable, and secretariat guard.
The Chief Minister said that ex-Agniveers, who have served the nation, are a matter of pride for the state and deserve respect as well as employment opportunities. He added that this move ensures security of their future and reflects the government’s commitment towards ex-servicemen and Agniveers.
