Anti-Narcotics Task Force to Get Stronger, New Posts to Be Created

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced that the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) will be further strengthened to achieve a drug-free Uttarakhand. New posts will be created within the task force as required, and officials have been instructed to launch an extensive campaign against drug abuse.

In a high-level meeting at the CM residence, Dhami directed strict action under the NDPS Act against offenders and called for widespread promotion of the National Narcotics Helpline “Mans-1933” to enable citizens to report complaints. He emphasized coordinated efforts by the police, health, education, social welfare, and other departments through workshops to raise awareness.

The Chief Minister stressed vigilance in border areas to curb drug supply from other states and ordered strict action against traffickers. He also directed police to increase night patrolling and take tough measures against drunk driving. Schools and colleges will run awareness campaigns to keep youth away from drugs.

Alongside, Dhami highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for adopting indigenous products under Aatmanirbhar Bharat and instructed the Urban Development Department to lead a state-wide awareness drive promoting local goods.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Additional Chief Secretaries R. Meenakshi Sundaram and Shailesh Bagoli, ADG V. Murugesan, AP Anshuman, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, IG Garhwal Rajeev Swaroop, Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, and Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari.
