Dhami underlines need for Integrated Development Plan, Spiritual Tourism

Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has approved a 30-day ad hoc bonus for eligible state government employees for the financial year 2025–26 ahead of Diwali. The decision, announced by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s government, is expected to benefit thousands of employees, with the maximum bonus amount set at approximately ₹6,908.

According to an order issued by the Finance Department, the bonus will cover Group C and Group D employees, along with non-gazetted Group B employees whose grade pay is up to ₹4,800. Under the revised pay structure, this corresponds to Pay Level 8, ranging from ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100.

Employees who receive benefits under any other productivity-linked bonus scheme will not be eligible for this ad hoc bonus.

The bonus will be calculated on the basis of 30 days’ emoluments, with the monthly emoluments considered for calculation capped at ₹7,000. Based on this limit, eligible employees can receive a maximum payment of approximately ₹6,908.

Daily wage employees also included

The government has extended the benefit to eligible casual and daily wage workers as well. Employees working in offices with a six-day week must have worked at least 240 days in each year for three or more years. Those working in offices with a five-day week must have completed at least 206 days of work in each year.

For these workers, the monthly calculation limit has been fixed at ₹1,200. The maximum bonus payable under this category will be approximately ₹1,184.

Eligibility linked to March 31, 2026

Employees must have been in service on March 31, 2026, and completed at least six months of continuous and satisfactory service by that date to qualify for the bonus. Those who completed between six months and one year of service will receive the amount on a proportionate basis, as per the applicable rules.

The order also extends the benefit, subject to prescribed conditions, to work-charged employees in government departments, staff of aided educational and technical institutions, local bodies, district panchayats and eligible daily wage workers.

Eligible employees of local bodies and development authorities may also receive the bonus if the respective bodies are in profit. In such cases, the payment will be made from the resources of the concerned local body or development authority.

The approval comes ahead of Diwali, with the government’s decision providing a bonus payment to eligible employees under the specified service and financial conditions.
