The Uttarakhand Cabinet has given in-principle approval to convene the state’s monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly in July. While the exact date and venue are yet to be finalized, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has been authorized to make the final decision.
In a major decision aimed at inclusive education, the cabinet approved the Uttarakhand Special Education Teacher Service Rules 2025. Under this new policy, 135 posts of special educators will be created across the state to enhance the quality of education for children with special needs.
Additionally, the cabinet decided to expedite preparations for the third phase of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin). Responsibility for implementing this program in rural areas has been handed over to the Panchayati Raj Department, replacing the current oversight by the Drinking Water Department. The move is expected to give fresh momentum to rural sanitation efforts across Uttarakhand.
