The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttarakhand is set to announce its new executive committee within this week. Preparations for the announcement are complete, and state party president Mahendra Bhatt has returned from Delhi after discussions. The new team will include 31 office bearers, among them eight vice-presidents and eight general secretaries.
According to state BJP media in-charge Manveer Chauhan, the announcement will be made within the next three to four days. He said that detailed discussions on the structure of the team have already taken place, and now only the formal declaration remains. The new executive will focus on strengthening the party’s organization down to the booth level in preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections.
The organizational framework will consist of President Mahendra Bhatt along with 31 office bearers, including eight vice-presidents, eight ministers, three general secretaries, one general secretary (organization), one state media in-charge, one treasurer, and one office secretary.
In addition, seven separate fronts—Yuva Morcha, Kisan Morcha, Mahila Morcha, SC Morcha, OBC Morcha, Minority Morcha, and ST Morcha—will have their respective presidents announced. It is also being speculated that this time, the post of state general secretary may be entrusted to a woman leader.
