The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its second list of candidates for the upcoming local body elections in Uttarakhand, naming contenders for four district panchayat (ZP) president posts and 11 block chief posts. On Friday, the party had earlier released names for 63 block chief and eight ZP president positions.
State BJP media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan confirmed that candidates for all district panchayat president seats have now been declared. With the addition of 14 more block chief nominees in the second list, the party has so far announced 77 block chief candidates. The remaining names will be revealed soon.
For the district panchayat president posts, BJP has fielded Poonam Kathait from Rudraprayag, Sona Sajwan from Tehri, Anand Singh Adhikari from Champawat, and Ajay Maurya from Udham Singh Nagar.
