The Uttarakhand Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, approved 10 proposals during its meeting in Dehradun on Friday. One of the key decisions was to increase the stipend for MBBS interns at five government medical colleges.
The stipend has been increased from ₹17,000 to ₹25,000 per month. The decision will benefit MBBS interns undergoing training at the state’s five government medical colleges.
The Cabinet also approved changes and proposals across several departments, including energy, prisons, law, food, sports, education and employee insurance.
Key Cabinet Decisions
The Cabinet approved the proposal to place the annual report of the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission before the state Assembly.
In the Prisons Department, one post of Additional Director General of Prisons was approved for inclusion in the cadre structure under the department’s service rules.
The government also approved the revision of fee rates for government advocates. Honorariums for advocates appearing in the Supreme Court, High Court and subordinate courts have been increased.
The Cabinet approved amendments to the service rules related to Legal Metrology under the Food Department.
In the sports sector, 35 posts of Assistant Exercise Instructor under the Secondary Education Department have been created and reserved for medal-winning sportspersons.
Under the Sports Policy 2021, the government also approved a proposal for the appointment of medal winners in international and national competitions against 243 posts across departments including Youth Welfare, Transport and Education.
The Cabinet further approved the allotment of 972 square yards of land at the GMVN parking area in Mussoorie to Garhwal Sabha.
A proposal to provide 15 acres of land near the ESIC Directorate land in Haridwar for an ESI hospital was also approved.
Seva Sankalp Campaign From September 17
The Cabinet also approved the Seva Sankalp campaign, which will run from September 17 to October 17. All ministers will be assigned responsibility for programmes under the campaign.
The programme will include activities at religious places, Anganwadi centres and public participation initiatives such as cleanliness drives and plantation programmes. Various organisations will also be involved.
Competitions will be organised for children, while street plays will be used to communicate government initiatives and achievements to the public. A platform for innovation will also be created.
As part of the campaign’s message linked to the goal of a developed India, a Kalash symbolising the Sankalp for a Developed India will be placed at a public intersection.
