Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has approved the implementation of the Devbhoomi Family Scheme during the state cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Under this scheme, family IDs will be issued to all families residing in the state to streamline welfare and development programmes.
The cabinet also approved 12 key proposals, including the formation of a sub-committee to review the regularization and salary structure of employees working under the Uttarakhand Purv Sainik Kalyan Nigam Limited (UPNL). The committee will submit its report within two months.
In a major decision, the cabinet allowed UPNL to facilitate employment opportunities abroad, expanding its current operational scope. The compensation amount for dependents of disaster victims has been raised from ₹4 lakh to ₹5 lakh, while the same amount will now be provided for fully damaged houses.
The cabinet also decided to form a separate sub-committee to determine a cut-off date for the regularization of daily wage, contractual, and ad-hoc employees. The government stated that the Devbhoomi Family Scheme will play a crucial role in improving the delivery of government welfare schemes across Uttarakhand.
