Dehradun: In a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government approved six important proposals, including the Mahak Kranti Policy. Under the first phase of the policy, aromatic farming will be promoted on 22,750 hectares of land, benefiting 91,000 farmers.
According to DG Information Bansidhar Tiwari, beneficiaries cultivating aromatic plants will now receive subsidies — 80% for up to one hectare and 50% for more than one hectare.
Other cabinet approvals include:
- Restructuring of the state prison department, with 27 permanent posts and the rest through outsourcing.
- An additional ₹27 crore sanctioned for the construction of 1,872 EWS houses in Rudrapur under PM Awas Yojana.
- Creation of eight new posts under the Education Department for Doordarshan broadcasts through SCERT’s TV channel to aid students unable to attend classes.
- Special education posts to be offered on outsourcing basis to D.El.Ed graduates who completed distance education between September 2017 and March 2019. The state will also file a review petition in the Supreme Court against the mandatory TET ruling.
- Marriage grant for those marrying persons with disabilities doubled from ₹25,000 to ₹50,000.
