CM Dhami’s Unique Initiative: District Toppers to Become DM-SP for a Day

In a move to inspire academic excellence and promote environmental awareness, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced a new initiative under which district toppers of High School and Intermediate examinations will be symbolically appointed as District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) for a day.

The initiative aims to provide meritorious students a glimpse into administrative roles, boost their self-confidence, and motivate them towards higher goals. A detailed action plan is being prepared, and the scheme will soon be implemented in all districts.

Additionally, CM Dhami has directed officials to organize “River Festivals” across the state in the name of major rivers. These events will focus on river cleanliness, rejuvenation, and conservation while promoting mass public participation.

He emphasized that rivers are not just water sources but integral to the state’s culture and lifestyle. Through these festivals, the government aims to raise awareness about water conservation and hygiene among the general public.
