Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired the first meeting of the state-level steering committee at the Secretariat, where progress of central and state flagship schemes was extensively reviewed. Discussions covered agriculture, rural and urban development, health, education, women and child welfare, employment, social security, digital technology, environment, and sports.
The CM directed officials to accelerate implementation so that maximum beneficiaries can avail the schemes at the earliest. He emphasized transparency, accountability, and coordination among departments, stressing that consistent and result-oriented steps are necessary to position Uttarakhand among the leading states.
Highlighting the role of technology, Dhami said modern digital tools should be widely used for monitoring and execution of schemes to ensure efficiency and quick information access. He urged coordinated efforts to deliver benefits directly to farmers, the poor, women, and youth.
On agriculture and energy, the CM instructed officials to expedite solar pump installations under the PM-KUSUM scheme, noting this would enhance irrigation facilities, promote renewable energy, and support environmental sustainability. He also directed speedy road connectivity to remaining villages under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, calling roads the foundation of development in remote areas.
Dhami underlined that participation of public representatives and local communities is vital for success. He asked departments to maintain regular dialogue with legislators and ensure people gain maximum benefits.
The meeting was attended by Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Rajya Sabha MPs Naresh Bansal and Dr. Kalpana Saini, MLAs Sahdev Singh Pundir, Renu Bisht, Suresh Gadhia, Shaktilal Shah, Harish Dhami, Manoj Tiwari, along with senior officials including Chief Secretary L. Fanai, Special Chief Secretary Amit Sinha, and secretaries Radhika Jha, Nitesh Jha, B.V.R.C. Purushottam, S.N. Pandey, R. Rajesh Kumar, Dheeraj Garbyal, Sridhar Babu Addanki, Yugal Kishore Pant, Ranveer Singh Chauhan and heads of various departments.
