Uttarakhand Congress Holds Key Meeting, Plans Major Rallies Against BJP

Dehradun: Senior Congress leaders and MLAs of Uttarakhand held a crucial meeting at the Pradesh Congress Committee office under the leadership of state party president Karan Mahara. Key figures, including Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, former CM Harish Rawat, CWC members, AICC secretaries, and several MLAs, attended the session.

The meeting reviewed the ongoing “Mera Vote Mera Adhikar” campaign and strategized for the next six months. Leaders announced plans for two major rallies in Garhwal and Kumaon against the BJP government’s “anti-people policies.” They accused the ruling party of manipulating elections and pledged to expose its “conspiracies.”

Mahara also revealed that on March 21-22, Congress will conduct a training camp for district and metropolitan presidents to strengthen the organization and raise awareness about constitutional rights. The party is compiling a list of voters allegedly removed from electoral rolls in recent elections and will intensify protests across the state.

CWC member Gurdeep Singh Sappal criticized the BJP for rising unemployment, inflation, and corruption, alleging misuse of public funds. He accused the government of failing to protect women’s safety and declared that Congress would take to the streets in a phased manner to protest against the BJP’s governance failures.

Leaders exchanged ideas on strengthening the organization and discussed key issues to be raised in the upcoming political battles.
