State Employees and Pensioners Get Relief as DA Hiked by 2%

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a 2% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees, pensioners, and family pensioners, bringing relief to thousands across Uttarakhand. Effective from January 1, 2025, the DA will increase from the current rate of 53% to 55%, providing direct financial benefit to government staff and retirees.

Alongside this, the Chief Minister has sanctioned key infrastructure projects across various districts. In Champawat and Almora’s Lamgara tehsils, ₹13.86 crore and ₹3.88 crore have been approved respectively for the construction of new tehsil buildings. Additionally, ₹5.63 crore has been allocated for various development works in Udham Singh Nagar and Pithoragarh districts.

For the Pantnagar Greenfield Airport project, ₹3 crore has been sanctioned to dismantle existing structures and facilitate temporary displacement, as well as runway construction and expansion. Furthermore, ₹2.63 crore has been allocated for the construction of parking facilities, boundary walls, and access roads at the Kanalichhina tehsil premises in Pithoragarh.

These decisions are expected to not only bring economic relief to employees and pensioners but also accelerate basic infrastructure development in the state.
