Uttarakhand Declares Public Holiday on Jan 23 for Local Elections

The Uttarakhand state government has declared a public holiday on January 23 in view of the upcoming municipal elections. According to Vinod Kumar Suman, Secretary of the General Administration Department, the holiday will be observed in all voting areas, including government offices, educational institutions, semi-government bodies, commercial establishments, treasuries, and sub-treasuries.

Paid Leave for Private Sector Employees

The order also mandates that employees, artisans, and laborers working in private establishments must be granted a paid holiday on the day of polling. The directive was issued by the state’s General Administration Department on Monday.
