CM Dhami Orders Crackdown on Fake Medicines, Relief Work for Disaster Victims a Priority

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high-level meeting at his residence, directing strict action against the production and sale of counterfeit medicines in Uttarakhand. He instructed district administrations, police, and the health department to jointly conduct an intensive campaign to eliminate the fake drug network. Dhami stressed that public health cannot be compromised and offenders must face tough legal measures.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the situation of families affected by the Dharali disaster, highlighting that their rehabilitation, relief, and livelihood restoration remain the state government’s top priority. A committee headed by the Revenue Secretary has been tasked with submitting a report soon, which will form the basis for large-scale relief operations in other disaster-hit regions as well.

Dhami further directed the launch of a statewide campaign to promote indigenous products, terming it an important step towards building an Atmanirbhar Bharat. He urged ministers, officials, and government employees to actively encourage the use of local goods, giving priority to them in procurement and official events. He noted that recent GST slab changes will provide additional support to indigenous industries.

Addressing the issue of Agniveers, the CM instructed that proper training facilities be ensured, with regular special programs conducted at police training centers. He reiterated that the government is fully committed to fulfilling the promises made in its vision document, urging officials to expedite implementation of public welfare schemes while aligning with the aspirations of the people.
