Uttarakhand Forest Dept: IFS officer transfers likely soon as board holds key meeting

Transfers of Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers in Uttarakhand’s Forest Department are expected soon. A Civil Services Board meeting has already taken place regarding this. Several important posts in both the Forest Department and Forest Corporation are currently being handled through temporary charge arrangements, raising the likelihood of new appointments.

The Forest Corporation typically receives deputed officers from the Forest Department. With the recent retirement of Forest Corporation MD G.S. Pandey, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF) Sameer Sinha has been given interim charge. Meanwhile, Additional PCCF Nishant Verma, who was overseeing forest fire control, has moved on deputation, and Chief Conservator of Forests Rahul has taken over his responsibilities.

Neena Grewal, PCCF who returned from deputation in the Watershed Department, has yet to receive any new assignment. Additionally, several officers are handling multiple portfolios. With the board meeting already concluded, discussions suggest that the transfer list could be released within a week. Some reshuffling of responsibilities is also likely.
