On May 14, the Forest Survey of India reported the highest number of fire alerts from Uttarakhand, with the state accounting for 44 out of the 158 alerts recorded nationwide. Other states with significant alerts included Uttar Pradesh (24), Madhya Pradesh (21), Odisha (15), and Jammu & Kashmir (8).
Additionally, two fresh forest fire incidents were reported in Uttarakhand on Thursday, both within wildlife zones. These fires damaged approximately 1.75 hectares of forest area, highlighting the ongoing threat to forest resources in the state.
