Uttarakhand CM Calls for Strong Action to Bring Dropout Girls Back to School

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed education department officials to make strong and effective efforts to reintegrate school dropout girls into the mainstream education system. He emphasized the urgent need to reduce the dropout rate among girls and ensure they continue their education.

The CM was virtually reviewing the state’s key education schemes and called for qualitative improvement in education through integrated strategies. He stressed that special attention should be given to the “Praveshotsav” initiative to ensure maximum enrollment in Classes 1, 6, and 9.

He also highlighted the importance of skill development and vocational education, encouraging regular innovation across schools. Dhami instructed that books, notebooks, and school uniforms must be provided to students on time. Unused school infrastructure should be repurposed, and separate toilets and sanitary pad availability for girls must be ensured in all schools.

He further called for attention to school building safety standards, the promotion of arts, theatre, and sports activities, and awareness of the Fit India Movement. The Chief Minister also stressed the need to fill vacant teaching posts promptly and work toward exam system reform.
