The Uttarakhand government has transferred five Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, making significant changes in key departments related to crime, law enforcement, vigilance, and traffic management. The Home Secretary, Shailesh Bagoli, issued the official transfer orders.
New Assignments for IPS Officers
According to the orders:
- IPS Mukesh Kumar has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC).
- IPS Dhirendra Singh Gunjyal has been transferred from his role as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Prisons to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Crime and Law & Order.
- IPS Rachita Juyal has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Vigilance Establishment. She was previously stationed at the Police Headquarters.
- IPS Jitendra Mehra will serve as Superintendent of Police (Crime and Traffic) in Haridwar. Previously, he was posted as Additional Superintendent of Police.
- IPS Niharika Tomar has been appointed as Superintendent of Police (Crime and Traffic) in Udham Singh Nagar district, transitioning from her role as Additional Superintendent of Police.
The transfers are viewed as a strategic move to strengthen the state’s police administration and improve operational efficiency.
