Dhami Govt Creates 25,000 Govt Jobs in Four Years, Focus on Youth Employment

In four years of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s tenure, youth have emerged as the biggest beneficiaries, with over 25,000 permanent government jobs provided. On Saturday, appointment letters were handed to 15 assistant teachers selected for tribal welfare department’s state-run ashram schools.

Since assuming office on July 4, 2021, the Dhami government has prioritized youth employment and skill development. Recruitment through the Public Service Commission, Subordinate Services Selection Commission, and Medical Services Selection Board has already placed thousands in various departments, with several selection processes still underway.

The state also launched the Chief Minister Skill Upgradation and Global Employment Scheme on November 9, 2022, offering training in hospitality, nursing, and automobile sectors for jobs abroad. So far, 154 youth have been trained, with 37 already employed in Japan.

To ensure fair recruitment, a strict anti-cheating law was enforced in 2024, which curbed paper leaks and sent over 100 members of the exam mafia to jail. Dhami said the government’s goal is to generate opportunities so that Uttarakhand’s youth contribute to the state instead of migrating.
