The Finance Department has announced revised GST rates on key goods and services in Uttarakhand, effective from September 22. Most rates have been reduced, bringing relief to consumers ahead of the festive season.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government has significantly reduced GST rates nationwide. In line with this, Uttarakhand will also implement the revised rates, which are expected to provide direct relief to the public while boosting the economy.
Finance Secretary Dilip Jawalkar informed that following the decisions taken in the 56th GST Council meeting, the central government issued tax-related notifications on September 17, 2025. Subsequently, Uttarakhand released its own notifications on September 18, 2025, covering revised tax rates on various goods and services.
The changes will take effect from September 22, leading to a fall in prices of covered items. This is expected to strengthen consumer purchasing power, increase demand for goods, and promote business activity across the state.
