Uttarakhand Hill Endorsement: New Fee Structure for Commercial Vehicle Drivers

Dehradun – Commercial vehicle drivers from other states will now need to pay ₹250 to obtain a hill endorsement on their licenses in Uttarakhand. This includes an endorsement fee of ₹150 and a user charge of ₹100. However, the examination for the endorsement will remain free of cost.

With the Chardham Yatra starting on April 30, the transport department has initiated preparations. This year, a green card will be mandatory for vehicles with a seating capacity of more than 13 passengers traveling to Chardham or other tourist destinations. The green card will be valid for one month.

Additionally, hill endorsement on the licenses of out-of-state drivers will also be compulsory. Drivers with a pre-existing hill endorsement will be exempt from this requirement.

Hill Endorsement Application Process
Applicants need to apply online, where they will receive a test form. After completing the form, they must visit the Regional or Assistant Regional Transport Office for the examination. Results will be available online, and successful candidates will receive the hill endorsement on their licenses.

Highway Repair Demands Before Yatra
As preparations for the Kedarnath Yatra continue, local traders along the route have demanded the immediate repair of the national highways. Despite ongoing snow clearance work on the pedestrian route, key sections of the Gaurikund National Highway, including Devi Dhaar, Byugaad, Doliya Devi, Chandika Dhaar, and Sonprayag-Gaurikund Motor Road, remain in poor condition.
