Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday flagged off Mobile Medical Unit vehicles under the “Rural Garhwal Integrated Health Service Project” from the Chief Minister’s Camp Office. The project has been initiated by Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Dehradun, inspired by the Chief Minister’s vision to strengthen healthcare access in remote areas.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government is committed to ensuring that no citizen is deprived of healthcare due to geographical or financial limitations. He said this initiative will make it easier to deliver timely and quality medical services to remote villages. The project aims to strengthen primary healthcare in rural and difficult regions by providing free medical check-ups, consultations, and medicines.

The first phase of the project has been launched in Chamoli and Tehri Garhwal districts, where two fully equipped mobile medical units have been deployed. These units will provide general medical services, more than 29 types of free pathology tests, free medicine distribution, eye examinations, health counselling, and referral services. Doctors will be available in each mobile unit, which will visit villages, towns, schools, and market areas at fixed schedules in coordination with district authorities.
