Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that one model village will be developed in each development block of Uttarakhand. These villages will be equipped with essential infrastructure and every household will be connected to employment opportunities. The announcement came during a review meeting of the Rural Development Department’s “Game Changer” schemes at the Secretariat on Monday.
The Chief Minister emphasized achieving a turnover target of ₹100 crore under the “House of Himalayas” brand by 2030. He directed officials to ensure the marketing of local products through Unity Malls and to develop a strong strategy to secure national and international markets. Strict quality control of the products was also stressed.
Highlighting progress under women empowerment schemes, it was shared that 1.65 lakh women have already become “Lakhpati Didis.” The goal is to support another one lakh women over the next three years. Under the Chief Minister Udyamshala Scheme, assistance will be provided to 15,000 rural enterprises during the same period.
The state plans to link growth centers with skill development initiatives and encourage reverse migration by strengthening doorstep delivery of government schemes. More than 150 local products are to be gradually brought under the House of Himalayas brand.
