To ensure nutritious and high-quality meals for students in Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalayas across Uttarakhand, the state Education Directorate will now determine the food menu. The decision follows directions issued by Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat.
According to Education Director Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati, the per-student daily meal allocation was previously ₹75, which was later increased to ₹150. Despite the hike, low-value tenders led to complaints about substandard meals being served to students. In response, it has been decided that the Directorate will standardize the menu for all schools.
Regular inspections of the meals will be conducted by District Chief Education Officers (CEOs) and Block Education Officers (BEOs) to ensure adherence to the approved menu and food quality standards.
