The nomination process for the three-tier panchayat elections in Uttarakhand begins today, July 3, across 12 districts, excluding Haridwar. The State Election Commission is conducting the elections in two phases to fill 66,418 posts across the state. All preparations for the process have been completed in the concerned districts.
Nomination Schedule and Details
Nominations for both phases will be accepted from July 2 to July 5, between 8 AM and 4 PM daily. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place from July 7 to July 9. Candidates will have time to withdraw their nominations on July 10 and 11, from 8 AM to 3 PM.
Elections will be held in 89 development blocks for:
- 55,587 Gram Panchayat Member posts
- 7,499 Gram Pradhan posts
- 2,974 Block Panchayat Member posts
- 358 District Panchayat Member posts
Although the nomination process is conducted jointly for both phases, election symbols will be allotted separately:
- For the first phase: July 14
- For the second phase: July 18
The first phase of polling will be held on July 24, followed by the second phase on July 28. Results will be declared on July 31. By June 30, a total of 6,853 nomination papers had already been sold.
