Panchayat Elections: Uttarakhand to Hold Polls in Two Phases

Uttarakhand State Election Commission has announced the new dates for the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections. The polls will be conducted in two phases — with the first phase scheduled for 24 July and the second on 28 July. Counting of votes will take place on 31 July.

The nomination process will begin on 2 July and continue till 5 July. According to the schedule, district magistrates will issue election notifications on 30 June. With this, the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect across the state and will remain in force until the election process concludes.

District administrations have initiated preparations to ensure smooth conduct of elections. The State Election Commission has instructed all districts to complete arrangements on time and take necessary steps for a peaceful and fair election. Enhanced security measures are also being implemented.

The announcement has set political momentum into motion, with various parties and potential candidates gearing up with campaign strategies and voter outreach efforts.
