Amid ongoing weather challenges in Uttarakhand, the State Election Commission has announced contingency plans for re-polling in case voting is disrupted due to heavy rain. According to officials, if polling cannot take place at any booth on July 24, re-polling will be conducted on July 28. Similarly, for the second phase scheduled on July 28, affected booths will go to polls on July 30.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held three back-to-back high-level meetings and made a surprise visit to the State Emergency Operations Centre in Dehradun. During the unannounced inspection, he reviewed the impact of heavy rainfall across districts and assessed the preparedness of officials for relief and rescue operations.
CM Dhami instructed all district magistrates to remain on high alert, especially in sensitive areas, and to carry out prompt action as needed. He emphasized close monitoring of vulnerable regions and directed the administration to ensure swift response to any emerging disaster situation.
