A meeting of the expenditure finance committee chaired by Anand Vardhan, Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand, approved several key infrastructure proposals related to urban development, drinking water and public works.

During the meeting, approval was given for the construction of multi-storey parking facilities at Neelkanth Mahadev Temple in Pauri Garhwal district and Ramnagar. The estimated cost for the Neelkanth project is ₹51.83 crore, while the Ramnagar parking project is estimated at ₹38.57 crore.

The Chief Secretary directed officials to strictly follow parking construction guidelines and pay special attention to technical aspects such as turning radius for entry and exit. He also instructed that a geotechnical survey of the land at Neelkanth Mahadev be conducted before construction. Additionally, emphasis was laid on enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the structures through façade lighting.

The committee also approved proposals from the drinking water department, including three major water supply schemes for Pipalkoti, Tilwara and Ukhimath municipal areas.

Apart from this, a sewer line project for Lalkuan municipal area was also recommended during the meeting.These approvals are expected to improve urban infrastructure, parking facilities and drinking water supply in key regions of the state.
