Srinagar – The state-level rifle and pistol shooting championship of Uttarakhand Police has commenced in Srinagar Garhwal, Pauri district. A total of 15 teams from various districts and police units are participating in the three-day event, which includes multiple rifle and pistol shooting categories.
The competition is being hosted at the SSB Kedhar firing range, as Pauri Police currently does not have its own shooting range. Efforts to identify suitable land for a dedicated police firing range in the district are underway.
The championship was inaugurated on Friday by Pauri SSP Sarveshwar Panwar, who urged all participants to maintain discipline throughout the event. He warned that participants involved in any form of indiscipline would be disqualified.

The three-day contest includes rifle and pistol events at distances of 50, 100, 200, and 300 meters. The participant securing first place will earn the opportunity to represent Uttarakhand at the national level.
