Although the monsoon is yet to arrive in Uttarakhand, pre-monsoon showers are already providing much-needed relief from the heat across the state. On Friday, several regions are likely to experience intense spells of rain.
The Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in parts of Dehradun and Tehri districts. In addition, light rainfall accompanied by thunder is expected in isolated areas of Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Almora, and Nainital.
Meteorologist Rohit Thapliyal stated that the monsoon is expected to reach Uttarakhand within the next couple of days, following its progress through Uttar Pradesh. Until then, widespread pre-monsoon activity will continue across the region. This weather pattern is likely to persist till June 24.
On Thursday as well, several districts including Dehradun received significant rainfall, offering residents a welcome break from the intense summer heat.
