CM Dhami Congratulates 21-Year-Old Priyanka Negi on Gram Pradhan Victory

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami personally congratulated 21-year-old Priyanka Negi from Gairsain’s Sarkot village on winning the Gram Pradhan election. The CM praised the villagers for a well-fought election and assured Priyanka of full cooperation in taking the village’s development forward.

Sarkot has been designated as a Chief Minister’s Model Village due to its consistent development and zero migration. The CM stated that senior district officials will soon visit the village for inspection. He encouraged Priyanka to lead development efforts and focus on empowering women through self-employment. He also invited her to Dehradun for further discussions.

Priyanka Negi, who recently completed her graduation in Political Science from Gairsain College, received 421 votes, defeating her rival Priyanka Devi who secured 235 votes. Her father, Rajendra Singh Negi, was also a former Gram Pradhan (2014–2019). Sarkot is one of Chamoli’s largest villages, home to over 300 families. Priyanka has committed to promoting women’s awareness and advancing the developmental initiatives started by the CM.
