Travel movement in Uttarakhand continues to face major hurdles due to persistent rainfall, with the Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway currently blocked and the Kedarnath Yatra halted for a short duration. Meanwhile, the Yamunotri Highway near Ojari remains closed for the 12th consecutive day, causing significant inconvenience to both pilgrims and local residents.
Efforts are underway to restore access, as the Highway Construction Division nears completion of a Bailey bridge at the affected spot near Ojari. Executive Engineer Manoj Rawat stated that the installation of deck plates is in progress, and the route may reopen for vehicles later in the afternoon.
As per the State Emergency Operation Center, a total of 87 roads across the state are currently closed due to landslides and debris triggered by monsoon rains. In light of this warning, all schools and Anganwadi centres in Dehradun will remain closed on July 10 for classes 1 to 12. Light to moderate rainfall is also expected in other districts.
