Platform to Support Reverse Migration Announced, CM Dhami Highlights Role of Women in Building a Better Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during a review meeting of the Migration Prevention Commission on Friday at the Secretariat, announced the creation of a dedicated platform to support individuals who have returned to the state under reverse migration. He said their success stories will be showcased to inspire others toward self-employment.

Dhami directed Rural Development Secretary Radhika Jha to incorporate the experiences and suggestions of these individuals into state planning and policies. He emphasized the need to prioritize skill development for sustainable livelihoods in rural areas.

The Chief Minister also underlined the crucial role of women in Uttarakhand’s development. He proposed that women in self-help groups should be provided with professional training along with branding and marketing support for their products, enabling better access to markets and fair pricing.

During the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Migration Prevention Commission, Dr. S.S. Negi, informed that nearly 2,000 people have already returned and started self-employment ventures in agriculture, animal husbandry, tourism, homestays, and horticulture. Dhami instructed officials to simplify schemes and ensure inter-departmental cooperation for effective implementation.
